Currently Obsessed: Black Shoes

I have been doing lots of shopping recently. I am desperate for fall, which you know if you have been reading my posts. I have invested in some new footwear over the last few weeks, so I thought I would share them with you. I realize that they are all black, but I feel like black is so timeless and versatile. They are also really budget friendly options.

Over the Knee

I ordered these babies from TARGET! Target shoes are my favorite because every pair I own is so dang comfortable. I am always browsing through their shoe department. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of these mid-October because they are currently back ordered. About 3 years ago there was another fabulous pair of over the knee boots at Target that were like $30 dollars. My mom talked me out of buying them and I swear it still haunts me. Therefore, I am praying that these fit perfectly and fill my over the knee boot void.

quilted slip-ons

On my last trip to the mall I spotted gold, quilted Steve Madden slip-ons. Luckily they didn’t have my size, because a week later I found the Target version. I am so excited to try and figure out how to rock these. They are definitely out of my comfort zone, but I love the laid back and edgy vibe. I am hoping to style them with some boyfriend jeans, a feminine top and maybe a leather jacket.

bam bam

Last, but certainly not least, I found these stunners on major sale at Steve Madden. Seriously, I got these for TWENTY DOLLARS. My sister also picked up a pair. I cannot find them on the website, but it’s worth checking out your local store to see if they have any left. I will be wearing these to a friend’s wedding in a few weeks and hopefully many more times after that.

Top Ten: Fall Bucket List

Fall Bucket List

In honor of fall officially kicking off this week, I have been brainstorming all the things I want to do this year. Even though it does not feel like fall in Northern California, I already have plans to do a few of these things while the rest will be on reserve for nights and weekends with no plans. What are you looking forward to doing this fall?

What’s Good Wednesday

I thought I would start a series called What’s Good Wednesday to remind myself to pay more attention to all the good things in life both big and small! I figured what better day than hump day to display the things currently making me happy to help conquer the rest of the work week?

what's good wednesday blooms

I picked up some bright blooms over the weekend and they are currently living on my bedside table.

what's good wednesday turkey balls

I am attempting to do the Health Goddess two week tone and slim down program with one of my friends. I don’t know how rigid I will be about sticking to the plan, but I am excited to learn new recipes and tricks to live a healthier lifestyle. These turkey meatballs did not disappoint!

what's good wednesday books

I have been really into reading lately. Paper Towns is next on my list. I have already finished the others shown here plus If I Stay and The Beginning of Everything (currently on loan to friends). I am taking full advantage of my Amazon Prime membership and ordering new books every few weeks. I would love recommendations from you!

Over the weekend, a group of friends and I went to a local winery. We had a fabulous wine tasting and a picnic on the grounds with sandwiches from our favorite market. There is no better way to spend the weekend then with best friends, good food and outside in the sunshine. Big thanks to my sister for taking these pictures of me despite my extreme awkwardness. Check out Picchetti Winery next time you want to do a local wine tasting! I recommend the 2010 Reserve Angelica and the 2013 Viogner.

This Week on Instagram #1

I thought it would be fun to share my Instagrams from this week. But don’t let them fool you into thinking I am crazy healthy. I am a big believer in balance in all areas of my life and this week was no exception **cough–In-n-Out–cough**! Yoga on the Row

On Sunday, my friend and I participated in Yoga on the Row! It was an outdoor yoga class sponsored by Lululemon. I am so happy that I participated. It was so much fun to do yoga outdoors with a few hundred people with the sun shining on us early in the morning. I also have to give a shout out to Suja Juice, Pressed Juicery and Vita Coco for all the free drinks. Vita Coco Cafe is my newest obsession. It tastes like coffee chocolate milk!

Happy Monday

While browsing Pinterest on Monday, I stumbled upon this Garlic Mushroom Quinoa recipe and knew that I had to make it for dinner. I added shallots to the recipe along with Very, Very Teriyaki marinated salmon. It was even better then it looks! Also how cute are my new candle holders and pumpkins? They are all from the Dollar Store!

Happy Thursday

Too keep up the healthy dinner trend this week I made corn flake chicken with a side of zucchini pasta. My mom bought me a Veggetti and it is the coolest thing ever! I will definitely be using it more often. It is so easy and fun. I also made mug cake for the first time. Seriously…CAKE IN A MUG! My mind was blown and I will now be on the hunt for more variations.

1. Cupcakes and Cashmere– Emily was the first blogger I fell for. I have been reading her blog daily for over 4 years and yes I have read every single post. Cupcakes and Cashmere is the first blog I read every, single day.

2. Gal Meets Glam– I mean Julia is just drop dead gorgeous. Plus she lives in SF so the outfits she puts together are totally ones that I get inspiration from being so close to me. I also want to visit every single restaurant she posts about on Instagram because she seems to always order the most delicious looking noms.

3. Maskcara– I just want to be buddies with Cara. She does amazing makeovers; she is the Queen of highlighting and contouring and she uses a great mix of drugstore and higher end products. What’s not to love?

4. Cara Loren– She has such effortlessly cool style and she always looks flawless. I absolutely love when she features her two adorable boys in her posts as well. Best looking family award goes to the VB clan for sure!

5. Pink Peonies– I envy Rachel’s ability to mix prints and wear bold, bright colors. Her lipstick game is out of this world. She always has gorgeous photos and I love her simple notes about her outfits and life.

6. The Glitter Guide– I fell in love with GG when I moved into my house. I read through every home feature and found so much inspiration. I love the range of topics covered on the blog. Founder Taylor and her baby girl Elodie are the cutest. If you ever feel like spending a few hours stalking people on Instagram follow both The Glitter Guide and Taylor Sterling.

7. Aubrey Kinch– I don’t remember how I stumbled upon Aubrey but I am so happy that I did. She takes such clean, sharp and beautiful photos of her outfits, hair, beauty and home. Maybe one day I can work with her to up the ascetic of my own blog!

8. A House in the Hills– I love Sarah’s approach to a clean and healthy lifestyle. I still want to try out the all natural cleaning product recipes that she shared. Everything she cooks on the blog makes my mouth water. Make the crispy peanut butter balls–you will thank me&&her! I also really appreciated when she shared her family’s experience with her father-in-laws illness. The love they all share radiates from the computer straight to your heart!

9. Happily Grey– HAIR ENVY! I couldn’t pull off the majority of Mary’s outfits but she always looks fabulous. She always nails it with her accessories and just seems so laid back and cool. I definitely go through her posts when I need some boho inspiration.

10. Barefoot Blonde– I don’t read Amber’s blog every day, but I do love to catch up with it every couple of weeks for hair and style inspiration. Oh how I wish I was decent at braiding. Her baby boy is just delicious and I love following along on her family’s adventures. P.S. do her ab workout!

Hair Care Must Haves

Hair Care Must Haves (2) 9/11/14

Once upon a time, during my high school years, I used to wash and style my hair Not only was this super damaging to my hair but seriously who has time for that? I have finally mastered the art of not washing my hair every day and these are the products that have made my hair so much healthier and saved me so much time.

1. Redken Cleansing Cream- This stuff is amazing. It not only smells delicious, but also helps to rid your hair of all the build up that accumulates between washes. I use this once a week and can’t imagine my hair without it!

2. Tangle Teezer– Do yourself a favor, buy this brush, and never touch your wet hair with anything else ever again. It helps prevent breakage, breezes through tangles and comes in a ton of fun colors.

3. Unite 7 Seconds Leave-In Conditioner- Depending on the day you might want to spray this in your hair before you brush it, but this stuff helps to detangle and protect your hair. I use it every time I wash my hair and it will last you a long time. I seriously love every Unite product I have ever tried.

4. Hot Tools 1-in Curling Iron– The best multi-use iron! Waves, spirals, bends–you name it, you can achieve it with this curling iron. It is easy to use and also affordable.

5. Moroccan Oil– Hydration, shine and yummy smell. I don’t always use this but whenever I’m feeling like my hair is dull or in need of extra hydration I reach for this magic oil.

6. Batiste Dry Shampoo– The key to not washing your hair every day is THIS dry shampoo. Believe me, I have sampled my fair share and this is the best brand by far. It adds volume, soaks up any oil and you can choose from different scents or colors. I am never without at least two cans.

If you can get your hands on a bottle of Redken Wool Shake do yourself a favor and snatch that up! They have discontinued it so savor every spray like I do. What are your hair care must haves?
